- Voters may or may not choose to affiliate with a political party, however, affiliation with a party is required to vote in primary elections.
- 42% of Nevada voters are registered as nonpartisan

- Voters must affiliate with a party to vote in that party's primary.
- Registration closes 20 days before the primary election.
Campaign & State Partners
Vote Nevada, Better Voting Nevada and Nevadans for Election Reform are pursuing a ballot initiative to bring Final Five Voting (nonpartisan primaries + ranked choice voting in the general election) to Nevadans this year. They hope to begin petitioning spring 2022.
